DofusMulti or Dofus Tabs: which one for your Mac
Two macOS applications look after Dofus windows for people who play several accounts, and they do not make the same choice. This page puts them side by side on what can be checked. Everything about Dofus Tabs comes from its own site, read on 4 September 2026, and may have changed since.
Updated on September 4, 2026
Both rest on the same foundation: the macOS Accessibility API, the one that lets an application see other applications' windows and move them. Neither touches the Dofus client, duplicates keys across clients or automates anything. Dofus Tabs says so on its home page; DofusMulti spells it out in its Limits section.
What they have in common
- They find the Dofus windows on their own, with nothing to configure.
- A floating panel shows one portrait per character, and a click on it changes account.
- One keyboard shortcut per account, to jump straight to the right one.
- An account can be taken out of the rotation without closing its client.
- Each tells you when a new version exists.
- Neither includes input broadcasting or game automation.
What sets them apart
On everything else they made different choices, and that is where the decision is made. One fact per line, each checkable on the Dofus Tabs site or on this one.
- Price. Dofus Tabs is free, under the MIT licence, so open source. DofusMulti costs 19 €, once, updates included, for one Mac at a time.
- Layout. Dofus Tabs spreads every active window across the screen, in a grid, with one shortcut. DofusMulti stacks them in the same place, each full screen, aligned to the pixel, and shows one at a time.
- Shortcuts. Dofus Tabs uses ⌘1 to ⌘9 to jump to an account and ⌘0 to spread everything out. DofusMulti walks the rotation with ⌥← and ⌥→, and leaves one ⌥ shortcut per account to your choice, none taken in advance.
- Order. DofusMulti rewrites the rotation by dragging two portraits, and the arrows follow the new order. The Dofus Tabs site does not describe reordering; this page draws no conclusion from that.
- Group leader. DofusMulti lets you name one, with a key to return to it from anywhere. The Dofus Tabs site does not mention one.
- Number of accounts. Dofus Tabs' shortcuts go up to nine. DofusMulti stacks up to eight clients.
- macOS version. Dofus Tabs asks for macOS 13 Ventura or later. DofusMulti asks for macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
What has to be allowed
Both ask macOS for the same thing: the Accessibility permission, in System Settings, Privacy & Security. It is what lets an application see other applications' windows and move them, and it is the same permission ordinary window managers ask for. Without it, neither does anything, and neither gets around it.
Neither comes through the App Store, which is consistent: that permission is not granted there. Both are downloaded from their site, Dofus Tabs with its code, DofusMulti with a licence key sent by e-mail after purchase. DofusMulti then installs its own updates from inside the application, without the permission having to be granted again.
Who each suits
If you want to see all your clients at once, side by side, and price matters, Dofus Tabs answers the question, for free. On a large screen the grid holds; on a laptop each window becomes small, and that is a choice to accept knowingly.
If you want every client full screen, in exactly the same place, with a fixed rotation you can rewrite between two fights when initiative has changed everything, that is what DofusMulti does, and that is what you pay for. The price and the conditions are on the home page, and the terms of sale say what happens if the application does not suit you.
Both can be tried in an evening. The only wrong choice would be tidying the windows by hand.
